The Flag of Islam - Alam

The Flag which is also known as an Alam represents the People of truth within Islam.
During the time of the "Battle of Karbala" which was some 1400 years ago did many so called Muslims oppose the rightious teachings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh&hf). The teachings that these so called Muslims opposed were about what the Prophet had instructed for the Muslims to follow in order to avoid being led astray. He had made it clear and informed the Muslims to hold onto the Book which is the holy Quran and to follow his Family who are the Ahl Ul Bayt (pbut).
After the demise of the holy Prophet (pbuh&hf) did many so called Muslims fail to recognise and uphold the status and importance of the Prophet's Family. They instead waged Wars against the Family of the holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh&hf).
One such Battle was known as "The Battle of Karbala" where an Army of thousands of so called Muslims fought against the Prophet's own Family Members and their supporters.
It was the Army of Yazid (la) against the Army of Imam Hussain (pbuh).
This Flag of Islam is the same Flag which the Army of Imam Hussain (pbuh) carried during the battle of Karbala.
That Flag was mainly carried by Mola Abbas (pbuh) who was known as Abbas Alamdar (pbuh) which means Abbas the Flag bearer.
Mola Abbas (pbuh) (also known as Abu al Fadl – father of Virtue) was the son of Imam Ali (as) and the half Brother to Imam Hussain (as) who was the Grandson of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh &hf).
He was the Flag Bearer during the Battle of Karbala where he upheld his loyalty in saving the religion of Islam by standing behind Imam Hussain (as).
Mola Abbas (as) was known to be of the mightiest of Men and was known for his high level of courage. He was the guardian of the Veils of the Womenfolk as no Man had dared to attack the Women whilist Mola Abbas (pbuh) was present.
His greatest weaknes during the Battle of Karbala was hearing the sounds of Children crying out for Water due to their thirst, one such Child was Sakina daughter of Imam Hussain (pbut) who had requested for her Uncle Abbas to quench the thirst of the Children by getting them some Water from the River that the Enemy had surrounded.
Mola Abbas (pbuh) could no longer take the pain of hearing the Children crying out for Water, "al atash, al atash" they cried and Mola Abbas (pbuh) therefore requested his Brother Imam Hussain (pbuh) for permission for himself to try and get Water for the Children to quench their thirst.
His request had been granted and Moula Abbas (pbuh) went out to the Battlefield and headed straight to the Euphrates River to fill his Water Jug with drinking Water.
After having filled the Water Jug with drinking Water, was Moula Abbas (pbuh) eventually surrounded by the Enemy who showed no mercy and did not spare the Flag Bearer of Imam Hussain (pbuh).
They started the attack on Moula Abbas (pbuh) by cutting off his Arm which was carrying the Water Jug. Moula Abbas (pbuh) had then used his other Hand to carry the Water Jug but the enemy showed no remorse or signs of mercy and eventually severed his other Hand as well.
In a final attempt in carrying the Water Jug back to the thirsty Children did Moula Abbas (pbuh) use his Mouth to clench onto the Water Jug, the enemy did yet again show no sign of remorse or mercy and brought the Flag Bearer Mola Abbas (pbuh) to the ground after having shot an Arrow straight into His Eye.
This was the story of the pain, determination and sacrifice which Mola Abbas (pbuh) had made in an attempt to bringing back some drinking Water from the Euphrates River for the thirsty Children from the Camp of the Army of Imam Hussain (pbuh).
We to this day remember the pain, hardship, determination and sacrifice which the Flag Bearer of Islam from the the Army of Imam Hussain (as) had made.
He is Mola Abbas Alamdar who stood loyal behind Imam Hussain (pbuh) in carrying the Flag of Islam.
This Flag from the Army of Imam Hussain (pbuh) is today carrying the resemblance of the severed Hand of Mola Abbas (pbuh) as a sign and respect in remembering the pain, determination and sacrifice which this great Brother known as Mola Abbas (pbuh) Alamdar had made.
The Flag of Imam Hussain (pbuh) which was once carried by the Hand of Mola Abbas (pbuh) is today carrying the Hand of Mola Abbas (pbuh) our of love, respect and honor.
Thank you Mola Abbas (pbuh) for enduring so much hardship, pain, struggle and sacrifice in upholding the Flag of the true Islam and by standing behind Imam Hussain (as).
Due to your sacrifice will this Flag always be upheld and through this Panja (Metal Hand) will we always remember your struggle, pain and sacrifice that you had endured to save the true Islam of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh & hf).
