The Arbaeen walk takes place annually by millions of Pilgrims from all over the World. The walk is over 50 miles long and starts at the Shrine of Imam Ali in Najaf who is the Son in law of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh&hf) and ends at the shrine of Imam Hussain in Karbala who is the son of Imam Ali.

People take part in the walk to pay their respect and express their deep love for the Prophets Grandson Imam Hussain who was mercilessly martyred by People who claimed to follow the religion of Islam.

Imam Hussain stood his ground to uphold the true teachings of Islam, he stood against Yazid and his Army during the "Battle of Karbala" whereby the army of Yazid butchered Imam Hussain along with his Family for not having paid their allegiance to the illegitimate rulership of Yazid.
